ABOUT US

The Association marks its fiftieth anniversary in 2017, bringing together supporters of all ages to make sure the RH&DR steams on for ever! Originally formed to help the Railway as it struggled through hard times in the 1960's, the Association was delighted to support the new leadership brought in by Sir William McAlpine in the early 1970’s.

Now reformed as a charity, our goals are to continue that support, develop a heritage and interpretation centre, and help all those who are interested to connect their enthusiasm with the Railway’s needs. We want to see more people joining the existing volunteers who do everything from driving trains to helping the elves wrap Santa’s presents.

Membership carries may benefits: a quarterly magazine The Marshlander, reduced rate travel, special trains and additional events. Please use the form on the reverse of the Railway timetable to join or visit the railway website to join online

As a registered charity, the Association also offers a tax-efficient route for those who would like to leave a legacy, be it financial or a specific gift to the Railway.

The Railway is a unique and world-famous operation: help us to keep it alive for many generations to come!

Please help us support this wonderful Railway.
