THE RH&DRA HAS INCORPORATED AS A CHARITABLE INCORPORATED ORGANISATION (CIO)

A Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) is an incorporated form of charity which is not a limited company. It is only registered with the Charity Commission. It is a legal entity that can enter into contracts in its own right.

The changeover will be complete when the assets of the old charity (Registered Number 1127688) are transferred to the new one (Registered Number 1191151). This will be completed in 2022. the Members have instructed the Committee to do this by written resolution (see below).

At that point the old charity will cease to exist. You can read the new constitution and see the certificate of registration on this website.

BACKGROUND

In 2020 we are undertook the process of recommending Incorporation as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The reasons were set out by the Chair in the Marshlander, Issue 211.
