NEW FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN

The BLACK PRINCE VIRTUAL HALF MARATHON was run in April 2022 and was a successful way to bring in more funds for our latest campaign. Thank you to all who participated towards this fundraising effort which is:

TO BRING AN ORIGINAL 4 WHEEL CARRIAGE BACK HOME!

The Association has the opportunity to bring, what we believe to be, the last remaining original carriage back to The Romney. It has undergone some restoration at its current home but – we have had it inspected and the majority of what we now see is original.

This is an exciting for us in the run up to the centenary. We expect to have it on regular display at New Romney.

The money we raise will go towards the estimated costs of £8500, which will cover purchase and transportation.

GENERAL FUNDRAISING EFFORTS CONTINUE

The Association raises money all year so that it can respond to requests from the railway as well as do as much as it can to secure the heritage of the line through its own projects; a good example being the Heritage Centre. Work on this remains to be completed on some features and is planned for 2022.

All donations, large and small are welcomed and can be made as follows via our ‘JustGiving’ account here: https://www.justgiving.com/rhdra.

or by cheque to the Treasurer (Overfalls, 10 Station Road, Hythe, CT21 5PN).

Donations will go to the railway by way of the Association’s General Fund on which we can claim gift aid to boost the amounts available. This way we can offer more support to the railway than if they fundraised directly.
